Ashleighs' Story

Growing up I never had any concerns or worries about the way I looked. Even after having 3 children I was more happy and proud with the fact I had 3 beautiful healthy babies rather than worrying about my body shape!

That was until in January 2017.

I saw a photo of myself during a summer holiday and I was shocked at who that person was. It was then and there that I knew I needed to make a change - not only for me, but more importantly for my kids. I wanted to be a role model for them and wanted them to be part of a happy, healthy lifestyle.

Going to Get Me Fitter enabled me to experience an exercise environment that wasn't intimidating like some other places. The people there are always friendly, and the trainers there have a wealth of knowledge around exercise & nutrition. They have helped me understand how my body works and to focus on the most efficient way to get my workouts done!

I am not afraid to say that I have worked hard to acheive the results I have so far. I have done a lot of my own research and learnt so much about how to push myself but also how to look after myself. I haven't gone crazy with the exercise or with the diet because I still need to be able to run a household and be there for my partner and children.  

I am happy to say that this is not a "temporary fix" for me, but is now very much a way of life which I enjoy. And let's be honest - EVERY woman loves having to buy new (& smaller) clothes!!

Erus' Story

It was a bit of a shock when I have been on the ‘comeback trail’ for nearly a decade and hadn’t made any progress.

Working with Roddy, I have finally broken the ‘comeback trail’ trap and actually made some gains that I know I can keep. I have learnt how to train smarter and how to eat smarter. The actual volume of work is probably the same or slightly less than before but its focused, intense and getting me results.  The volume I eat is still the same (thankfully as I don’t do hungry) but I feel better with more energy.

I loved the training and how it helped me to sort out a bunch of things going wrong in my life; eating, bad flexibility, bad back, muscle imbalances and weight gain. The programme has been challenging but it’s something I know I can maintain and build on. The approach addressed my overall health not just weights and my strength and fitness have improved massively as a result. I feel great which is the most important thing to me. 

I needed to train smarter not more given a busy lifestyle with work, travel and kids. It has been the best decision for my health in the last decade and am stoked with the results and would recommend the team to anyone wanting to break their own ‘comeback trail’ trap.

 


I like that Roddy has obviously made a concerted effort to know more about how people's bodies, diet and brains work, rather than just focusing on the training session at hand. I like that he takes an overall approach to our sessions whilst still making me work. I like that he has a proactive approach to my questions, queries and any comments I make during our sessions.
